Hanan received her B.Sc. degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the Technion in 2020. She joined our group in April 2021 as a research assistant. After completing a year of engineering courses, she joined our lab as a M.Sc student in October 2023. Xin received her B.Sc. (Cum laude) in Biotechnology and Food Engineering from the Technion in 2020. Her undergraduate research, under the guidance of Prof. Sima Yaron, focused on cloning and initial characterization of T3SS effector encoded genes in Edwardsiella strains. Xin joined our group on August 2020 and her research aims to develop rapid Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) techniques for clinical applications. She is currently working in collaboration with physicians and microbiologists on a proof-of-concept diagnostic system, termed as iPRISM, for rapid (<90 min) and direct AST of clinically relevant bacterial infected samples. Kayan received her B.Sc. in Biotechnology and Food Engineering from the Technion in 2021. She joined our group in June 2020 as a research assistant and in March 2021 she began her graduate studies. Kayan’s research focuses on the integration of optical porous silicon biosensors with 3D printed microfluidics for biomarkers detection. Her work is in collaboration with the group of Dr. Janina Bahnemann at the Leibniz University Hannover.
