Sofi is a Ph.D. student, working on the development of biosensors for early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. Her work combines aptamer technology and integration with Isotachophoresis technique and lab-on-chip system. She joined the Segal lab in August 2013 for an undergraduate project, focused on developing a biosensor for detection of bacteria, also based on aptamer technology. She received her B.Sc. in Biotechnology and Food Engineering from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology in 2015.
