Ramy has a B.Sc. degree in Biochemistry, an M.Sc. degree in nanoengineering, and a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering. He worked as a research scientist at Tiselia, a microfluidics startup company, and served as the CTO of Neshima Medical, a startup developing advanced lung therapies. Ramy joined our group in September 2024 as a researcher. He supports and improves the use of microfluidic techniques in our lab, and studies ways to improve and reduce costs of our microorganism detection technology (iPRISM) using nano-imprint techniques. Hanan is a PhD student and research is focused on new strategies for sustainable crop protection. Hanan received her B.Sc. degree in Medical Laboratory Sciences from the Technion in 2020. She joined our group in April 2021 as a research assistant. After completing a year of engineering courses at the Department of Biotechnology and Food Engineering she joined our lab as a graduate student in October 2023. Alva is a M.Sc. student, she joined our group in May 2021 as for her senior year research project and studied new carriers for targeted antibiotic therapy. Her senior year project results together with Dr. Ofer Prinz Setter were recently published in Advanced Functional Materials. Xin received her B.Sc. (Cum laude) in Biotechnology and Food Engineering from the Technion in 2020. Her undergraduate research, under the guidance of Prof. Sima Yaron, focused on cloning and initial characterization of T3SS effector encoded genes in Edwardsiella strains. Xin joined our group on August 2020 and her research aims to develop rapid Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing (AST) techniques for clinical applications. She is currently working in collaboration with physicians and microbiologists on a proof-of-concept diagnostic system, termed as iPRISM, for rapid (<90 min) and direct AST of clinically relevant bacterial infected samples. Kayan received her B.Sc. in Biotechnology and Food Engineering from the Technion in 2021. She joined our group in June 2020 as a research assistant and in March 2021 she began her graduate studies.
